A few changes to the site

We've made a few changes to the site over the last couple nights.    The system we were originally using was slow and had a bit of an issue with spam comments.

If you notice any pages that don't quite work right -  they should be soon.    Comments are currently not enabled but will return soon.

I also updated the donation page.  Now it is database driven and you will be able to look up past years donations.    Like before it only includes donors who wish to be identified.

'Tis the Season' expo

Hello everyone,

On Dec 3, 2009 we will be attending a not-for-profit expo hosted by the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas.   We will have a booth setup and hopefully will come out of the event with some more volunteers.   It's not a fundraising event so we won't be able to raise any donations at the event.

The event will be held at Parrott Bey, 408 N. Locust, Pittsburg, KS

The purpose of this event is to showcase the work of non-profits in southeast Kansas, allowing community members to learn about their mission, their work, and their hopes for the holiday season.

Hope to see some of you there!

2010 Volunteers

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since i've updated - really haven't had too much to share.   I will start updating more frequently when we start activelly raising funds for the 2010 show.

I just wanted to update and let everyone know that I created a volunteer form here:  http://www.pittsburgfireworksshow.org/volunteer/     I also added a link to it in the top navigation bar.

If you or someone you may know are interested in volunteering - please fill out the form!

The show last night

Hello everyone,

We hope you caught the show last night - if not -  it was amazing!      Here is a video clip of the finale.

We also managed to raise a decent amount of money last night for next years show! I will have the final amount posted later. Still have to count and deposit all of it.

We did it!

Hello everyone,

On Tuesday Bell - A Division of Credit Unions United presented us with their matching donation.    They gave us a nice big check for $15,000!     That on top of the near 15k we had already raised at the time puts us up a little over 30k total!

That's enough to fund this years show and 10k towards next years!

Thank you everyone for your support.    If you can please make sure to come out to the show!  It should be a good one!
